Cod Closure
Amidst the current depressing fisheries trends, I am glad to see the state of Massachusetts has closed important cod spawning grounds to fishing through the end of February and that the closure and the reasoning behind it is receiving media attention. It is high time that we start putting the long-term future of fisheries ahead of political pressure and greed.
