Why is it that the death of a movie star can make me feel so completely and gut-wrenchingly depressed? I think because it is a reminder that even people who are brilliant and blessed cannot always escape the suffocating grasp of sadness.

That’s a good question. I think it also has to do with that these people produce something, that when you watch it, you kind of give a little bit of yourself over to it. Although they’re just portraying a character in a movie, you’re still invested. Kind of the same way when of your favorite musicians dies.
What are your thoughts?
